Junk
Junk is an Omen, serving to clog up the player's inventory with useless clutter that duplicates itself exponentially. Additionally, while it isn't mentioned in the item's description, Junk also has several obscure interactions which influences the player's Morality.
Littering and Garbage Disposal
Unlike most other Omens, Junk is able to detect when it is dropped on the ground, either through having a full inventory, or from the Divine Gearcheck's effect. Upon dropping, the player loses 1 morality "for littering". While not a major impact for most players, this makes Junk one of a few omens to still penalize the player even if it isn't properly taken into their inventory.
To add extra flavor, there is another hidden mechanic to parallel littering. Like most normal items, Junk can be removed through effects from items like the Trash Bin, or the
Dumpster. However, when Junk is removed through these two items, the player is awarded with a notification "Eco-Friendly! +3 morality'.
Scrapper
The Scrapper boss is designed around filling the player's inventory with Junk. With their passive ability to deal damage to the player when their inventory is full, Junk serves as a ticking clock, slowly filling up the inventory for each mistake made during the final map.
