When playing
Beach Ball with a stranger, if you have a high enough combo, there's about a 25% chance to obtain Beach Resort each time you hit the ball. How high a combo you need to get depends on the stranger. Waterboys are among the strongest opponents and require the lowest combos, with only 15-16. Priests and Elders are among the weakest opponents, and it may not be possible to get the Beach Resort with them. Other strangers fall somewhere in between.
You can also play against
Trixie, and if you're good enough at Beach Ball, this is a good way to obtain Beach Resort, since you can make her strong enough that she rarely fails to continue the combo.
A good setup for obtaining Beach Resort if you're not good at Beach Ball is finding a small stage, spawning a few
Waterboys in it, and filling every other cell with
Priests and/or
Elders. You can initially throw the ball to a Priest or Elder and build up a large combo against them, then wait for them to pass it to a Waterboy where your combo will be enough to obtain Beach Resort. The smallest that stages can be is 16 (4x4), which you can get by having several
Tunnel mods on it, though you need it to also have the
Evolving mod because otherwise there will be a ladder on the stage, which gets in the way (Tunnel reduces the stage size, then Evolving triggers to remove Tunnel, and then because the stage doesn't have Tunnel anymore, a ladder does not spawn and it doesn't have substages).
